Finding Rest In Jesus Christ
Posted on November 1st, 2026
Life can be exhausting. Every day brings responsibilities, challenges, disappointments, and uncertainties. We work to provide for our families, struggle with financial pressures, deal with sickness, face difficulties in relationships, and sometimes carry burdens that nobody else knows about.
Many people spend their lives searching for peace. Some look for it in financial security, others in relationships, entertainment, vacations, or personal accomplishments. Yet even when these things bring temporary relief, the burdens of life eventually return.
There is, however, a rest that the world cannot provide. It is a rest that does not depend upon our circumstances, our possessions, or our ability to solve every problem.
It is the rest that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
In Matthew 11:28–30, Jesus gives one of the most comforting invitations found anywhere in Scripture:
Matthew 11:28–30: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
These words were spoken nearly two thousand years ago, yet they remain just as meaningful today. Jesus is still the answer for those who are weary, burdened, and searching for peace.
